I knew he didn’t have a girlfriend because he was talking to another guy about not having a girlfriend. He made clear flirting signs and I liked the guy for a while so I told him but he rejected me by saying it’s better to just have a crush. And then he said plus I have a girlfriend. I thought that was pretty weird. What do you think?

If you are not his type of person or he is not into you, that's a way to tell a person he is not interested.

But he could also be an attention seeker. After observing you and your obvious curiosity about him, he may play hard to get but this strategy may backfire on him.

In any case, that is the type of guy to avoid as he does not seem to be honest about a relation. If he needs fake excuses, then how much can you trust him in other aspects of life.
