Staring. It makes me insecure because I can’t tell if it’s a “wow look at that hottie with a body” stare or if it’s a “wow how did that chick even feel confident enough to step foot in here?” stare or even worse: “that chick doesn’t know wtf she’s doing, but I don’t want to give unsolicited advice” stare. So I end up leaving to go to the other gym (my apartment complex has 2 gyms), but the insecurity keeps eating at me as I think of all the negative things they probably think about me for leaving in the middle of my workout.
Another thing that makes me uncomfortable is if they use gym equipment as shelves for their phone or water bottle. Like this one dude had his water bottle and keys on a stack of step-up equipment I needed, and I’m too shy to ask people to move their stuff because I don’t want to be intrusive.
I hate when people grunt excessively. I hate being stared at for example when I do squats. Or even if a guy is looking at a different girl. Just makes me feel like I'm in a predator and prey situation. I've had advice given that was really rude but I've also been approached respectfully and given advice.
Why is grunting an issue (or is it just annoying)?
Mmmm we can be self conscious... we wouldn’t fully be comfortable if we were doing certain stretches or squats or if you’re running on the treadmill and your boobs may be bouncing a little no matter what we can get stares or have the feeling like someone is.. some people out there have imagination...
I'd only be annoyed if they spoke to me. Unless they wanted to point out a safety hazard or asking if I'm using nearby equipment.
