What does I don't know mean when asking your crush (boy) out?

So I’ve had a crush on this guy for a while and he’s really awkward. He’s a home body and really likes to keep to himself. Therefore he really doesn’t reveal that much of his personality, it’s hard to get close to him and get to know him is what I’m trying to say. But anyways after the last text he never answered me back but he didn’t go on Instagram since then so I don’t really know what to think. I know he’s not talking to anybody rn. A lot of girls like him tho. We used to be kinda close, but then he went through a phase and just kinda cut all his friends from his life. We used to do thingy that I guess you could consider coupely together. Like we played basketball together sometimes, if I took his spot on the couch he would just sit on me and try and make me laugh, we would wrestle a lot, sit next to each other, play truth or dare, play Pokémon, he used to take his sisters phone and try to prank text me. But then just out of nowhere he cut me out, and now things are really awkward between us, like the most he ever really says now is hi. My feelings for him haven’t really changed since day 1 tho, like I’ve always liked him, and I figured with nothing better to do with my time why not build up the courage to ask him, and this is what I got. What does that mean?

I know someone exactly like that.. He most likely have aspergers and can't connect on an emotional level and doesn't know how to connect with his own feelings so hence why he says he doesn't know

That could be disinterest😬 if you know he's very separated from his feelings then maybe asking outright, "do you want to go on a date" will just give an answer.

He needs to know how you feel. He needs to know your feelings from day one and and you would like to know how he feels about that and what is he going to do about it.
