My boyfriend said that he thinks that the fact that I'm really innocent. When I asked why, he said that it was a 'guy thing'. Is it really a guy thing? Why?

Boys are taught they're supposed to have all the answers. How many guys have you met who are willing to ask for directions or help? If they are young and inexperienced in relationships, they feel more secure in a relationship with someone who is innocent, as she is less likely to confront him about his ignorance or compare him to others. The male ego is very fragile, no matter how tough they appear on the surface. They just want to feel safe and valued and believe they are more likely to find that with an innocent girl. A girl doesn't need to be innocent to be appreciated by a guy, but comparisons and criticism will only push him away, not motivate him to improve.

Healthy guys are attracted to healthy girls, and healthy girls (healthy in the head that is) don't give up sex unless they have some real commitment, like engagement or marriage.

A girl like that who has saved herself has a lot to offer in terms of romantic connection and bonding, and that's what good men are after. Yes, it's definitely a guy thing. It's also definitely in our DNA, but even though I have a theory about most things relating to male attraction to females that involves an evolutionary reasons, I have a hard time extending it to their attraction to innocence.

Best I can think of so far is that innocence is associated with younger women as opposed to older women. Men are attracted to younger women because they are more fertile and therefore more able to conceive and bear children. The most basic element of survival in a species is its ability to procreate. So innocence is associated with fertility which is associated with procreation hence men have a natural attraction to innocence in females built into their DNA. I'm betting that's pretty close to the answer.

Most, but not all, guys are attracted to innocence in women, probably because it will allow the guy to kind of teach her his way, and he won't have to live up to what some other guy did. Not many guys want to be the boyfriend AFTER you dated a 6'3" tall ripped gymnast with a 9" dick, because most guys aren't going to compare very well to that, but if a girl is "innocent" and inexperienced, a more average guy is going to feel more confident.
