Why do guys want to meet up immediately?

So I had two encounters that pushed me to ask this question. Maybe its really nothing but anywho... A community contact and I kept in touch for work purposes and in one email he gave me his number to text him. We were texting back and forth for a few hours and he then said he doesn’t mind hopping in his car to meet up and give him my address. I declined that meet up.

A few months later I reconnect with an old classmate of mine and we started catching up on old times when he mentioned we should meetup sometime... cool no problem I told him and he then said that he can drop off his groceries and we can meet up in a few hours... he seemed stunned when I declined.

Soooo what’s with the urgency? I mean it’s not like I am sitting around doing nothing... I got my day planned.

Another friend of mine said the same thing happened to her w/ a guy. What’s with the same day meetup plans?

Every guy has liked a girl - a girl who was single or a girl who was in a relationship that ended - and before he could (or did) ask her on a date, she was already in a relationship with someone else. This teaches guys that, when you have an opportunity, you cannot afford to wait around - you need to jump and get'er done, or some other guy will likely take your place.

Then, you also need to consider that, a year into COVID, TONS of people are incredibly lonely and desperate to have someone to spend time with.

So, it's really not difficult to understand this at all.
