To most guys. "confidence" or "strong" or "independant" are analogous to bitchy. If you mean confidence in the sense of self confidence and positivity I don't think most guys have an issue with that, for that type of 'confidence' imbues humility and humility is sorely lacking in postmodernist society.
Men aren't angered by self described 'confident' women, men fear that these women lack any humility whatsoever and do not provide for a man what he needs most in his life, peace.

i wouldn't say angry, i just wouldn't care, i say that because, nobody cares about a womans confidence, thats not how men are attracted to women, for most guys, men, a woman with confidence is a bonus, a plus, but not a must-have, the other way around, a guy has to have it or there will be no attraction, its non-negotiable for women, just sarcastically expressing my resentment towards the gender dynamics of dating/relationships.

Honestly, I'm very confident and comfortable in my sexuality, if a guy has an issue with that, it's his problem and he'll need to get past it. Fortunately I've never dated a guy that had any issues like that.
