Why are guys always calling me sexy or hot?

I am a guy. Why do guys always call me sexy, hot, handsome and try to get me to hang out with them thinking it will help them pick up women. I kinda suck at reading social cues and am not having much luck in the dating game although i do notice women look/stare at me a lot I don't really consider myself attractive. I'm really getting tired of guys calling me sexy though, it's weird to me. What do y'all think the reason is for this?

Beyond that, I know about 5 years ago, the way f$$$boys would prove how straight they were to each other was by constantly pretending to be gay in a joking manner. Maybe there is still a measure of that going on here?


Or maybe you’re just way better-looking than them and they feel like it’s the elephant in the room that needs to be addressed.

Haha love it!! And thanks for your answer! It could be the case that it's the elephant in the room.. I mean a lot of girls look at me when I'm out. I've also noticed girls following me at the mall and lots of them look at me and whisper to each other or get talking really loud when I'm around. I always thought they were making fun of me because they thought I was ugly but maybe they are thinking the opposite.

It's so weird... and the thing is girls don't come right out and call me that usually. They give "signals" that I can't pick up on because I can't read social cues. It sucks.

Lots of guys can't read women's social cue's, maybe even most guys. It's no defect on your part. I have no useful advice whatsoever but if it's any consolation I do feel better for having expressed myself on the matter. Yeah, I just took your pain and made it all about me. Alright, peace out.
