What does a picture sent of his hand holding a beer mean?

My ex has been sending me random texts but when I respond we only talk for a few minutes and then he dosent respond. Few days later he will send something else, like a song we used to listen to. A picture of me he screenshoted from his Instagram from years ago, and recently a picture of his hand holding a beer. I sometimes don’t reply to him, or I reply hours later cause I don’t know what to say sometimes. The convos are always super light small talk.
