Friends with benefits needs to know about other guys?

Once the guy asked me if we can be friends with benefits and he told me he doesn't care if I hang out with other guys.
Last week he asked me if I wanna see him two times but I was busy for work and other things so I just replied I was busy and he got really upset.
He asked me "Are you with a guy?" and also said "If you are not being honest with me, I'm not gonna see you anymore. You need to tell me."
I just don't understand why he said that.
Is he just worried about desease? I thought friends with benefits doesn't mean I need to commit.
Also his birthday is coming and he just mentioned "He doesn't have any plans on the day." Does he wanna spend time with me?

My friends with benefits didn’t want me to hook up with other guys and out of respect for our friendship I want him to tell me if he’s sleeping with anyone else to be safe, we were both just exclusively sleeping with each other but we’re free to stop whenever. I think it’s normal for him to not want you to sleep around, doesn’t mean you can’t tho

You should have laughed in his face when he asked that. I'm sure he would have if you asked the same thing. Tell him if he wants to act like it's a relationship the make it one. Otherwise stfu. He sounds like a dickhead. No surprise though.

I feel like there's times when a friend's benefits relationship can be exclusive. But most of the time you really not obligated to tell them anything
