I only see this guy occasionally and he used to mind his own business but after seeing me at a wedding, I noticed that he stepped out of where he was standing to stare and smile at me.
A couple of minutes later, I noticed he was doing the same as I was eating. I then noticed that he was facing the other way, and after hearing someone talk, he casually glanced over to see who it was. When he noticed it was me, he completely turned around to face me, and just stood there staring and smiling at me (he smiles showing his teeth), it was for like 10 secs or something, longer than usual, so I just walked out of there. He doesn't come and talk or anything.

A smile or staring without action means nothing. If he didn't come over to speak to you nor did he add you on social media he may just have smiled as a kind gesture. Maybe you weren't very inviting in your demeanor- not smiling back, not showing or hinting you're interested. So he took it as you're not interested.

Even if I was, what does that have to do with if I answer or not? I'm trying to help you and show a different way of looking at things so you can get the answer to your question. It was the beginning of a discussion, I was leading you to something. I've been around the block many times with this stuff. I picked up quite a bit of wisdom that I know can help young people like you.

Yes, but even then you could've phrased your original response nicer. You also said the 'shit you girls think' as if girls are generally shallow. The thing is I'm just quite conservative and alittle shy so I didn't know if it was relevant or not. Anyway, the reason I added it in was because this person would hold a straight face, but recently when he sees me, he began smiling with his teeth showing, that's all. But even if this isn't relevant, I just felt you could've addressed it in a nicer tone.
