What do guys think of braided hair?

So, I am teaching myself how to French Braid my own hair and I was talking to my friend earlier and he said that he thinks braids and fishtails and the lot are "fugly". What do you guys think?

I've been reading a bunch of comment sections about the topic: do guys like braids? These are some of the descriptors I've ever read a guy call braids: sexy, cute, pretty, hot, cool, preeettttyyyyyyy (it has a completely different meaning than pretty), fine, functional, creepy, gross, fugly. It doesn't matter how you braid your hair, some dude on this planet with love it and another will hate it. I'm trying to not care what males think of my appearance. Our only goal should be to look clean, satisfied with our own appearance and fully clothed; everything else is too subjective.

As a female, I've had many compliments on my hair when I french braid it. My hair is naturally curly and sometimes it's nice to have it out of my face and away from my neck, especially when it's hot outside. Also, I've seen many french braids that look gorgeous in a professional work place. On the other hand, I've seen atrocious ones that aren't done properly or too quickly. Dreadlocks are fine as long as they're clean and they fit the person.

my boyfriend likes when I wear my hair in two braids but only when I'm in my pjs or we're having a lazy day. I think he likes it cause its comfy and cute, I def would take the braids out before we got down ;) lol

but I really like the half braided then the back half is out and curly.

Curly hair is a pain in the ass... Trust me. Mine gets craaaaaazy. And, I'm not really talking cornrows or canerows (depending on your part of the world) - although I have had them before. I meant more like this link or link except with curly hair like mine.

Curly hair is the BEST on any race.

but then when the hair does get straighten, its like looking at a new person which makes it even hotter. for me at least.

I'm more of a fan of straight or curly hair. But if it looks good, and you're happy with it who am I to complain.

I personally like normal, brushed hair. No braids, gell, weird stuff, etc. Just brushed and long enough to touch her shoulder blades.

depends on the head it's attached to. in general I don't think it's a good look - hard to pull off well any way
