Why don't my crush delete my number? If he finds me negative?

Okay so I met this guy a couple months ago. We started on a fun note, but things escalated quickly when he asked me for a pic. I told him I am busy now but I will send him later I sent him though. But then he asked me a question about sending nudes, I said I won't. He debated my opinion until I lashed out on him. We were flirting the other day and I said something mean but I was actually being sarcastic. He took offense to it and call me negative and said that I am negative as always. I apologized because after all it was my fault for not putting a smile emoji or lol to show that I was kidding. I then asked him why he called me negative he said in the past I was too defensive. If I am all these things, why won't he delete my number?
