Do guys like to talk about buying house/ future plan with girl (not a couple)? What's hour thought?

A guy that I meet frequently for 5 months (we meet on weekend or dayoff) mention he want to buy a house. but he said he going to be lonely to live by himself. I just laugh it off because I didn't know what to answer.
When we talk about this accidently we pass model house exhibition so I told him he can try to go and see it since it's near our original plan. And I offer to accompany him since we got time.
We are not eveb a couple But we mistook as husband/wife by the seller house for few times. He didn't even bother to correct it and keep asking me to answer seller question regarding what kind of house we are looking.
I really don't know how to react/answer since I'm not the one who's going to buy a house.
So in the end I gave up and just answer the question trying to match my answer with his taste or act like wife.
I really cannot understand what he's thinking. He's the one, wanting to buy the house, isn't he should be the one answer the question?

Can you please tell your opinion/thought?

He's a very quiet person so sometimes I cannot understand him.
when we meet we didn't talk much (we almost not talking when we walk or eat). But he's the one asking or suggest the place for the next meeting.
I always think if he's not happy to be around me, he won't asking for the next meet up, right?

Five months into a relationship this is not something I'd be talking about or planning. Even if our relationship was exclusive, buying a house together is a BIG step. It is not for playing games.
