Why do gay/bi men only date for sex?

Question

I've been dating men since my teens and despite how much I’ve developed feelings for certain guys and wanting a relationship I get stonewalled. It’s like every guy I meet is only interested in one thing. There’s no in-depth conversations, no emotional connections or even just us being close without sex. Like cuddling or going for a walk. I really want to have a romantic and emotional connection with a man besides sexual chemistry. Or is that too much to ask for?

Yeah, I think this is getting a little better. When I was first old enough to find out I was into guys, it was not really accepted, so most of us never had the guts to even ask anyone we were interested in. There were so few choices, and they were so hard to find until recently when it's become more accepted and the internet and some gay clubs and such, that it seems like people fill their sexual desires with guys first because options aren't easy to find. This seems like it's getting better, so I think there are a few more guys who are more looking for a relationship, but it seems like gay guys have not evolved much into normal relationships based on things other than looks. That probably needs more time. But part of that I think is still based on needing to go to a club or something to specifically meet gay people, and it's still not the norm to go up to a random guy in other places in society to ask if they're gay or not. So, like straight people, you meet someone at a club and for various reasons, you're picking people based on looks and you're hooking up and it never really evolves. It's possible, but long way to go. Every "relationship" I've ever had with a guy was mostly based on sex too.

Aww that sucks man, really I think it’s bad luck. I think it’s the same for all relationships... some good some bad. My neighbors are a gay couple and I have seen them date, get married, and adopt kids... they aren’t like anything you describe
