I have always had a crush on him since I met him 4 years ago.
When we met he had a girlfriend but they split up 2 years ago.
Over the last year we had gotten very close.
We would flirt with each other, text outside work, he followed me on all my social media and would always like photos, give me compliments.
At work we would talk a lot, joke around, tease each other etc etc etc and he would hang out with me at break times.
My office went out for drinks and we both told each other we liked each other when we were drunk but nothing ever happened - this was months ago now too…
He posted a few photos with his ex and that’s when I realised they had gotten back together. I was crushed but I’m happy for him and want him to be happy.
Now he walks by and doesn’t even look at me or say hi, he keeps his head down unless I say hi to him he will ignore me. He doesn’t come and talk to me anymore or keeps conversations very short and work related/to the point.
I feel really stupid because I don’t know what I’ve done and I was starting to get upset at work. I’ve started to avoid him now too because it’s so awkward other colleagues have even asked me why he is acting funny with me.
I understand his relationship is none of my business and respect that but why has he began acting like this with me?
Can I also add this man is older than me (in his 40s)
