Had a date with a guy last month that went awful and resulted in me breaking off contact and moving on. Last week, he popped back onto the radar and asked for a second chance at redemption - I reluctantly said ok. Yesterday was supposed to be that date and *radio silence* ... not even a text back when I asked if there was a game plan. I feel like this was done kind of power move just to prove he could get me to be stupid again. I don't get the motivation behind this - and I definitely won't be granting anymore redemption dates! We're more than 24 hours past when i asked for a game plan and there still hasn't been so much as acknowledgement or apology. I'm mad. Guys - explain. Why are some of you like this?
There are so many possibilities as to why this happened to be honest. Some guys have, and this is gonna sound bad, but they have a sort of "stable of girls" on their phones, and they keep each one interested should they end up alone one evening. If they do, they can call on one of the girls from their phone, and have someone to be with. Please understand this isn't every single guy, this is just some of them.
Sometimes guys will setup dates with girls and real life gets in the way of keeping up with what we had planned. I know, it sounds like an excuse, but it happens. Sometimes we get swamped with work, family obligations, social obligations like our best friends wedding lol, and we either forget, or think to ourselves, "I just don't have time for this." Would it be nice to get a text in these situations so everyone is on the same page? Of course! There are guys, and girls, that feel like "What's the point?" If you aren't going to see them again, or talk to them ever again, then why even send an explanation? It happens.
In your situation though, from the way you describe it, it seems like he lost interest at some point during the week. Either a new girl showed up and he went to her, or he just decided it's not going to work. That's what I think happened, but my opinion on things don't really mean much lol.
I hope you heal from this bad situation, and can realize that not all men act this way. Yes, it does happen as you've shown, but it's not every single man on the planet. When it comes to dating, hooking up, etc, the saying I like to use is "situation dictates". Basically wait for all the information to come in, or not come in, then make a determination off of the facts, and not off of assumptions. That helps me not think that every woman or man acts in the same manner, and helps keep me optimistic.

Please don’t waste any emotional energy trying to figure out why this loser did what he did. Move on. There are better guys out there. You’re lucky he showed his true colors early on.
Because he ain't that interested. He's talking to others as well so you're definitely not the best one for him. I know it sucks but kick that jerk away for good.
Jokes on him, I guess... he was just an option for me. Not even a front runner. Guess I gave too much benefit of the doubt that he'd improve in character. My biggest regret is I told two of my other options that I was busy and let this jackwagon take up a Saturday. He's out. No loss for me!
Yeah don’t worry too much hun we all go through these things especially now with all these dating apps. My advice from a guys perspective pick a shy/good guy trust me we make the best boyfriends haha.
We had one bad date and he flaked on his second chance. I asked what motivates some guys to do this... not how to save it. I've wasted enough time on this asshole.
