I am so confused? Is he playing a game?

Me and this guy have been snapping back and forth for like 3 weeks now and he added me to his private story and shared his snap map with me for a good bit of time. But then one day I noticed he stopped sharing his location (which i completely get cause I’m skeptical on sharing mine or he could’ve just gone to ghost mode) and then once I added him to my private story he took me off of his (I only know this bc he had posted on it earlier that same day but after I posted mine I couldn’t see his anymore). I’m just confused on what he’s doing lol.

And then today he posted to his normal story with a link to a new private story and said “join!” I don't know if I’m supposed to join cause we don’t know each other that well.

I know this isn’t a big deal or anything but I’m just looking for insight into why he’d do this/if he’s playing a game lol? And if so what am I supposed to do hahaha?
