Although women generally tend to be better at picking up signals than men, any man who can read women is perceived as much more attractive, which means that women will be more likely to fall into a "vulnerable" zone with him. When a psychopath gets this kind of "vulnerability" from a woman, he basically has her at his mercy at that point.
