What is your take on this touch?

As this guy was talking to me, he was caressing the top of my hand in the middle with just his fingertips. He did this slowly, back and forth with very small movements, almost like he was petting me very gently. What do you think this means?

My take would be that unless this guy isn't a close friend of your's and/or shares an intimate relationship with you, this is pretty weird and strange behavior that could backfire on him real quick.

Most people when they hold hands may caress each other's hands this way as a show of affection or intimacy. But as I said, it's pretty weird if you aren't attracted to one another first.
