Why do guys act cold and ignore you when they’re jealous?

When a guy feels jealous would you ignore the girl and act cold and distance towards her?

First of all it's because they are upset and they want you to know it that you hurt them and has nothing to do with that but that's the way they see it you hurt me so I'm going to act like this instead of being a grown up and say hey they have that right to do whatever they want we're not married we're not girlfriend and boyfriend and you have to let it go like that you can't be upset for something that's not there that's not real there's no title to it so they act like they are 5 years old and then if you ask him what's wrong of course they're not going to tell you because they don't want you to know did they like you so what the hell you're getting ignored and grumpy attitude from somebody because you hurt them but they won't tell you why it's because they're five that's all there is to it LOL they're not mature enough

If I'm interested in a woman but her behavior is a turn-off or I'm too distracted from my purpose, then I will ignore her or distance myself. if a guy ignores you due to jealousy, it's because doing so will allow him to deal with that emotion and move on with his life.

I guess it depends wut he's jealous about? Every guy acts differently. Some can just be sarcastic assholes until they get over it or yea, some can play a stupid game of distance/silent treatment. But it's stupid. If it's ur g/f and she did something great, shouldn't u b happy for her?

I wouldn't/haven't. Maybe it depends on the jealousy. Different cases. A guy flirting with a girl I like, I would move in more to direct her attention to me. A girl I really like, we talk and hit it off, suddenly flirts with another guy and doesn't talk to me or act like I'm not there, the I would be cold to her. Like she was with me. These are just different case scenarios

When I was younger girls would do something called playing hard to get. Once we all got out of junior high though this seemed to slow down. It sounds like you are describing something similar.

It's hard for people to be open about their feelings. If someone is being nice to you but you feel ignored or like it's not genuine, then there may be something else going on.
