So my partner ( M 19) and I ( F 20) live together with his friend we'll call Alex, who I also know. Because we are both students but Alex works full time, he pays more rent and it enables us to live in a really nice 3 bedroom house in the suburbs which is great.
The thing is, I would love to live with my boyfriend alone, but because of finances and how nice our current place is, it is unlikely that will happen anytime soon.
The issue for me is Alex can be quite an annoying flatmate. He doesn't clean anything, he basically only eats junk food and leaves wrappers everywhere. Also, he never really stays in his room, and is always sitting in the lounge, so everytime we are in the lounge, kitchen or going to our bathroom he is always there and starts talking to my boyfriend for ages and ages, which distracts my boyfriend easily. He is a nice guy in general, but he is also very needy. For example, he'll ask us to watch a show with him, and keep asking for days and days multiple times until we give in. He'll also ask me multiple times to play online games with him and won't stop badgering me, even when I had exams. Sometimes if my boyfriend and I are relaxing in our room he'll even call out cellphones and try get us to chat.
My partner being friends with Alex obviously finds him less annoying than I do. Do you have any tips on how I can deal with his behaviour while still living here for the foreseeable future?
