If an unattractive person has more objective talents/skills, will they be ignored by mostly everyone simply because he's unattractive?

An unattractive, skilled person here. I can confirm, YES! No one will care what you can do or say, if you're unattractive in their eyes, especially women. This has been my whole adult life, in fact.

People will ignore you, undermine you, think you're a "cheater," think you're faking or pretending to be who you are, and so on. It may be because they think someone shorter or less attractive than them can't possibly be "better" than them at something, so they'll make up excuses in their head to excuse this.

And with women and dating, it matters even less, because women (and men) are mostly shallow and only care about looks. Most people won't consider you a "good person" or dateable if you're not tall and attractive looking as a man. But it extends to basic social gatherings, as well.

It's called The Horn Effect. "Ugly people are bad people." This is what society subconsciously thinks and the Halo Effect is why they worship garbage celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Demi Lovato.

How would my confidence be perceived?

People don't think unattractive/short men are "deserving" of confidence, so they'd see you as arrogant, at best, and an asshole, at worst, even if you're neither.

What about an attractive person acting as I do?

That's what the Halo Effect is for. Attractive people "are worthy to be confident," according to others.

On dating apps, yeah because people go by the picture but if you're not the most attractive guy then you have to find a way to show what's great about you in other ways. Find a way to show off your skills.

But the majority tend to deflect, ignore it

Now there was a very attractive person I was associated with & ev n though he was terrible at his own talent

Every single one of his groupies (male/female) would pretty much kiss his ass

When these SAME people physically saw what I could do they just ignored it casually

Maybe I just hung out with the wrong crowd

Tetherball, track, some tennis,& won many matches & lifted heavy weight relative to my own bodyweight & performed many reps

I competed in small time gaming tournaments & a few hard fought ones

In & out of the gym
