Both guys and girls will say a guy is weak or insecure for wanting affection or for giving affection. Crying or complaining will get "man up" or "suck it up".
Men aren't emotionless robots. We feel hurt, we get upset, we want to be loved.
Why are guys always being held to a different standard with regards to being insecure, expressing emotions or being affectionate?

Men are supposed to be the rock. Not like Dwayne Johnson "the rock", but that solid, immovable object that keeps shit together when times get tough.
We're built to handle extreme stress with authority and confidence.
If it wasn't for men, this world would truly fall apart (it would without women too, but they play a different role).
Its perfectly ok to be vulnerable every now and then and tell people how you feel, but we can't be held to the same standard as women.
If we just cried and broke down and got all emotional every time something bad happened, we couldn't really call ourselves "men" could we?

Whenever I have weakened, I notice women in my life get nervous/afraid as they need me to not falter. If I did falter, then who would be the strong one they likely think. It creates vulnerability to our family/group. So I am rallied by them to be strong again, and the sooner the better it seems. It’s infrequent because I know I can’t.
