Why would a guy talk bad behind your back?

This time I'm asking the question for a friend of mine. She told me a friend of ours was coming onto her online, asked her out a couple of times and she rejected him in the nicest way possible. That was a few months ago. They were friends so they still talked a lot and she respected him. She found out he was trying with other friends of her at the same time he tried with her, these girls found each other and talked about it. She says she doesn't mind the trying with her friends at the same time part, but one of the girls told her that the guy had told her my friend was coming onto HIM and that she was "that kind of girl" while she acts like an angel. My friend is as "good girl"-ish as it comes, she really was in shock. Then when we found out he has been talking to other people (guys too) about her too, saying she's no good and a snake and like really mean stuff. Even I was in shock. Why would he do that? Why so mean?

Clearly he is a wanna be player, and when he gets rejected you hurt his self esteem even more than it already is, so he has to go around making up lies to make him self feel better plus make himself sound good to other girls and guys, he is only a little mad about your friend rejecting him, and trying to hook up with other girls with lies.

Rejection! His childish way to retaliate for being turned away! better to find out this behavior early before any emotional feeling have been attached. Best to ignore and do not feed into it. Will fizzle out and he will move on to his next drama soap. Good Question

A guy would talk badly about a girl because he either likes/loves her or dislikes/hates her.

In this case he likes her and he's talking badly about her because he's upset she rejected him, didn't act the way he wanted her to, and now has sour grapes.

This has happened to me when a guy tried to get with me and I turned him down. Some guys are a**holes, so when you hurt their ego, they will try to hurt your reputation and turn people against you.
