Honestly, that's a valid question. I'm also the kind of person who wants to know if the person I'm intending to sleep with is sleeping with other people. It's sort of an extra precaution in my head. like if they have multiple partners I'll take more precautions. It could also just be an insecurity of his. Either way, I think it's healthy to have that communication with people you're intending to be sexually active with. He doesn't need specific details or names but letting him know whether or not you're involved with others is respectful and important. Same for him letting you know.
