+1 yMaybe it's not extremely pro but, just take the compliment for what it is and stop being so pissing about every little thing someone says or does to you. Haven't we ALL had enough of this PC/woke bullshit, already!! Be thrilled that someone thinks you're beautiful.
I've always got people commenting or complimenting me on my height or how strong I am and I never let any of it bug me! It's just part of people being human and nothing to get pissed about! If they make FUN of me because of any of my attributes (as in, trying to hurt me), THEN I'll get a bit pissed off!23 Reply- +1 y
I'll sign your statement :)

No. He's completely out of line and you should (I would actually say you need) to file an official complaint with HR.
He's used sexist terms, and even if he claims that it's harmless, the reality is that by doing that, he taking away any value, self-worth, and progress women (and some men) have fought for in industries and the workplace as a whole for generations.
He's a semi-intelligent individual (somehow made it to managerial staff), so he should be able to read and therefore, can see your name. He should also be able to form the sounds that verbally make up your name so there's zero excuse for him to not call you by your chosen / given name the next time he sees you.
Think of it like this: if you didn't like someone at work, you're not going to walk up to them and say 'Sup Bitch!' No, you're going to act professional, and get on with the rest of your day. He's basically talking down to you and not giving you the respect you deserve by 1) not saying your name 2) using a physical descriptor of you to identify you to your face, of which is actually an opinion he has formed. He thinks your a beautiful, pretty woman. Now even if that doesn't sound like he's calling you a negative name, he is degrading you by saying you're only worth as much as your looks.
I mean, I wouldn't let him get away with insulting my gender, my existence, and my intelligence, so why would you?
20 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No that's making stuff weird and harassment. Unless she started it and clearly okay with it but then that's her been unprofessional but mutual unprofessional? Lol. But also been unprofessional ain't 100% a bad thing just it's a guide line to not let harassment happen.
30 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No. Guys can still get away with Bella though. The whole point of professionalism is to enable a productive harmonious work environment. Calling one or one group of women beautiful or pretty could cause division. That is entirely leaving aside sexual aspects.

+1 yWhat, then, is ''professional''?
Sticking to the necktie rules, or doing what everyone else does, just because of a lack of creativity?
Or surrendering to ''the System'' simply because it's easier?
Professionality in my eyes is to produce the required results. Not more - and not less :)
To surpass the mere average, it calls for an ''uncommon'' approach.
10 Reply As a manager, no, it's not professional.
1 - It can make or rather, will make a person uncomfortable.
2 - You will sound like a creep.
3 - It can be seen as a bias treatment, especially if you don't do it to ALL other women.
4 - It can create gossip. Imagine if that woman was promoted, there would be people saying that she got promoted because the manager likes her looks. And office gossip spread like wildfire.
This is totally unprofessional even if the woman is ok with it.10 Reply5.6K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No. But if you were leading him you can't be surprised by it either. He may be a manager. That doesn't make him a GAY manager. 😂
If he does it the wrong woman he'll just be a manager with a meeting with HR. Possibly an unemployed manager. Some guys learn the hard way. And some guys never learn.
10 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. It's neither.
Salespeople do that in order to convince customers to buy their product/services. They were trained to say that and being polite and sometimes being a bit of a "suck up" for a lack of better term.
No shame.
If it were for me, I would prefer that over being called eye melanoma inducing ugliness or whatever.

+1 yIt's not professional at all. Flirting in the workplace technically falls under harassment, by HR. A simple "hey, you look great today" moral boosting compliment is fine, but straight up flirty compliments is not ok in the workplace. It falls under "attempt to seduce" kind of compliment

+1 yWeird, but not inherently wrong. Still not advisable. Now, if he said "tootsie," and complimented you on having a nice ass, I'd be like: "Uhhhh... may be time to get another job."

+1 yThere should be nothing wrong with paying a woman a compliment like this, but in today's world, some women think it's creepy... and may even report it to HR.

+1 yToo close to harassment for any sane manager to do that. Some do of course, but I think its a terrible idea.

+1 yI mean, I didn’t know a compliment was a sign of un-comfortability. Either way, I just pretty much refrain from dolling out compliments. It never goes well. Even tho women crave it at times. Quick way to catch a sexual harassment suit for no reason.

+1 yDepends, is he hot and did you send vibes his way and are you enjoying it?
Or is he one of those weird skinny white dudes with no social skills who smiles lopsided-like?
Or is this a plot twist and he's a black manager, but is potato shaped?00 Reply- 1.3K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.

10 Reply7.8K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No, it is not. I put up with it every day.
10 Reply4.4K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No, it's not. At many companies that would draw a strong warning, and dismissal if it continued.

You don’t think its a tad bit weird?
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: No. Latin culture is different from American culture. In American culture calling a woman beautiful is creepy. LOL
- +1 y
Dude. Wtf?
If a guy said “hey, you look beautiful” that’d be one thing but to greet people in that way is just cringe as f*ck.
Pretty sure most women regardless of culture would find it weird if some colleague of theirs just randomnly came out of nowhere and said that to them instead of calling them by their actual name as would be customary in a professional setting.
This isn’t about “latin culture” or “american culture”. This is about normal and customary work ettiquete versus weird behavior. - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: Trust me, it's different in Latin American culture.
- +1 y
“Hi beautiful pretty woman”.
Doesn’t that just sound like an odd way to greet somebody?
Again its not even the fact you’re complimenting somebody, its just the way it was said.
Its typical to greet somebody by calling them by their name. - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: Its not like that in Latin countries. Trust me, I know.
Men and women in those countries are raised vastly different than what you been exposed to here in the U. S. - +1 y
So they have lower standards of professional ettiquete when it comes to conversation? This is a work colleague the question is asking about
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: You might consider it lower work standard but culture dominates how people interact with each other.
Hardly no one in Latin America country will consider it weird if the boss or work colleague says "good morning my love" in their native language.
Those countries are very loose type of personalities. It doesn't sound creepy like it's here in the U. S. - +1 y
Y’all just sound weird to me. I’d only call someone “my love” if the feeling was mutually reciprocated.
+1 yI don't know... but I think he wants to f*** you...🤣🤣🤣
