I’m seriously starting to fear men, because of the #redpill or #manosphere movement. It seriously is making me fear the future in dating. 😢😢😢

It’s showing me a horrifying side of men I never knew off. Specially here in America. I’m not even from here, I’m from Peru 🇵🇪.

I live with my father, and he never said the stuff those men are saying. The stuff those men are saying is not true and it’s honestly turning me off from all men or from dating all together. 😢😢😢

So you decide that some things should be changed, and laws and traditions altered, so that it can be more fair for everyone- that's reasonable, right? And you learn that there are many organizations, and many, MANY people, who are still so deeply entrenched in traditionalist thinking that not only will they refuse to go along with your ideas, or even discuss them, they'll harshly penalize you for thinking, or even believing, them. Some will even advocate for your social and economic ostracization for not following the zeitgeist's ideological line.

You realize that it's not just a matter of inertia; of old ideas clung to out of habit, but a living and thriving bigotry. You would, naturally, get very angry. And anger, unable to act, decays into resentment, which over time calcifies into hatred.

A subculture, left isolated (either by its own choice, or widespread social rejection, or both) is inevitably going to become self-reinforcing, if not necessarily a full-on echo chamber. And being seen from the outside, what's going to be emphasized (especially in the era of clickbait) is the most extreme elements. Most guys out there just want a fairer shake; the radicals saying bio-reductionist crap like "women are incapable of moral reasoning" or "your woman will leave you as soon as she finds a hotter guy with more money" are vastly outnumbered by those who want to see family court reform (it's apocalyptically bad here in the US), changes in dating culture, equality in reproductive, genital integrity, and antislavery rights, and respect for men and their problems in general.

@DaveJord I think you're comment is very fair and balanced and I appreciate that. What I don't understand is some of us women do get it. I know I'm not the only woman that gets it. I do understand that men have been abused, manipulated and taken advantage of by women. What I don't understand from the red pill movement is thinking its alright to assume to the worst in all women or to even denigrate women as a whole gender because of this. Just as I don't think it's right for feminists and probably more misandrists to assume the worst in all men and denigrate men as a whole gender because of the ones that are bad. Both sides of this debate tend to irritate me though I agree that both sides have some valid points but when the validity stops (for me anyway) is when one side thinks their victimhood is somehow worse than the other side and is completely caused by the other side.
The back and forth doesn't seem to get anyone anywhere, just leads to anger and resentment it seems. At the end of the day though as much as we may agree on some things and disagree on others we are still going to come to it from different perspectives, perspective of men versus perspective of women.

Anyway, to be clear I'm not really arguing with you, just wondering how in the world we are getting to this point in our society. Right now it just seems to be on the internet but even at work I see things spilling into real life at times.
