Went on a date with a guy over a week ago, we had a good time and we both agreed we would see each other again. However, he doesn’t really talk that much, but a few days ago he admitted that he’s been playing it cool since we’ve started speaking and that I’m completely his type and he thinks very highly of me. He also said he wasn’t sure if I was interested in him but he loves how I keep him on his toes by being collective and not giving away too much.
I expressed that I liked him also, but he hasn’t arranged a second date and when we are texting the conversation goes dead because he just stops texting back and he won’t check in with me for days. I texted him, but he ignored it and commented on something I posted on IG a hour after which is strange. Is he really playing it cool or playing games expecting me to do the chasing? (which I definitely will not be doing)

A little over a week ago? Most likely, He wants You to show an interest in Him with Your deeds instead of words, as He might consider words to be cheap. Friendship is about mutual support, and love is about mutual sacrifice (no matter how crazy it sounds). If He feels that You're not serious about Him, He might be daring You to show Your own dedication. And if He has a tendency to "play it cool", it's pretty normal for men. Getting emotional is usually a death sentence for men (not necessarily in a figurative sense), so they adopt a cold demeanor as a kind of protection. If You do not wish to know Him better or are unwilling to divulge more information about Yourself (no matter how alluring being secretive might be, actually sharing information about Yourself is essential in order to build trust), are You really ready for a deeper relationship with Him?
