Confusing reply?

He (friends with benefits) hasn’t answered yet if he’s coming over tomorrow or not. I texted him that he can spontaneously decide and that we can have a private Christmas party🔥 and he just answered “Hahaha”. He’s working but it still bothers me a little… He could have replied sth like “Text you later!”. He sometimes does that.

So keep this in mind: any time you've got a friend with benefits, there is always a very high possibility of that person ditching or ghosting you. I'm not saying that he's doing that, but I'm also not saying he's not doing that.

However, I think you're also overthinking the situation and worrying a little too soon. Just see what happens. If he doesn't text back anymore, then there's your answer. But even if he does text back like really last minute, I would question why. Either way, leave the ball in his court.

I don't understand what is confusing about the reply. You are right. He could have said text you later but he didn't. That is what is making you upset enough to ask a question here about it? If he is working and you know that he is then either you shouldn't text him at all because he is at work or you accept the short message and feel lucky he said anything at all... because he is at WORK. This comes off needing getting bothered that you didn't receive your preferred reply.
