Confusing response- trying to make sense?

Background- She expressed interest early on (put her number into my phone, made advances, always responsive), I was an ass and scared, and didn't pursue. No physical interaction. She's attractive, and confident and strong, but stubborn. I expressed interest later on, but after my actions it was too little too late. Everyone around us knows how we are attracted to one another including mutual friends. Now, I'm just confused with responses. At one point, I crossed the line (I put her career and personal life in jeopardy), and she didn't speak with me for a few months. Regardless, we're talking again... So, I was on the phone with someone else. I'm a working professional. We engage in a professional setting during business hours. I do not engage further outside of the business hours, but If we do, then there is a response. I was texting her while talking to the other person, and unable to call her. So, I stated that I would call her in time slots in the next few days. She sends this response- "well we're just friends so if that person has issues with calls from friends then that's odd. Personally wouldn't ever put myself in that position. More so you should be able to freely speak to whoever around that person. Shows the real you. Just some thoughts and advice lol not that you asked but enjoy your night!. I told her that I understood her response and it seemed fair." I called her the next day within the designated time slot during business hours. She picked up all was okay. I explained my time is limited, and hence my time slots & structure. I'm just confused by that text message. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. We're similar age, but my behavior is different with her. She acts strange as well around me. It's kind of a shame.
