Lack of answer/communciation?

Why would my friends with benefits ask me how my uni presentation was, for me to answer, tell him and say “Thank you for asking:)”, and then him reading this and not saying anything back. I then sent him a funny photo and he just sent “haha”. This was yesterday. We’re meeting next week again.
