Do guys get their friend to talk to the girl they like for them?

So, the guy I like we do talk one-on-one when we’re alone but whenever we’re in public he never approaches me. What I have realised that his closest friend would always either approach or initiates the conversation. And when he does that, the guy I like always happens to be around. His friend will always be the one talking to me, and the guy I like will just stay quiet and just look at me observing. He would talk at times too. And he would avoid eye contact at times too, but when he would ask me questions he would make a prolonged eye contact. Is this what guys do when they like someone? Act shy towards the person they like? And make their friend do the talking to make it easier for them?

Sounds like that guy is definitely shy around you and likes you for sure! Guys will totally get their friends to break the ice sometimes if they're too nervous to approach a girl themselves.

A few things that make me think he's into you:

- He always seems to be around when his friend is talking to you. Guys don't casually hover near a girl they're not interested in.

- He makes eye contact when he asks you questions. Hard to do that if you're not feeling a girl.

- Avoiding eye contact other times is a classic sign of being shy/intimidated.

- Prolonged eye contact shows confidence and that he's comfortable connecting with you on some level.

My advice would be give him signs you're interested too - smile and keep the conversation going when you see him. The more comfortable he feels, the more he'll start coming to you directly. And yeah, having his boy break the ice at first is totally normal for a shy guy. Seems like you've caught his attention for sure!
