Just cause your family are wealthy, doesn't mean he will inherit their wealth by any means, and how does he know, your parents might decide not leave you anything. Anything can happen between now, when they pass away.

He is making a massive gamble on dating you or even marrying you, to think he will get any of their wealth.

To be honest there aren't many men in this world, who can love a women just for money, I certainly couldn't have sex or kiss a girl just cause of her wealth or families wealth.

Don't make assumption unless you have evidence of his actions. If he starts, expecting you to pay for every thing, or expecting money from you in the future, then yes, he is a gold digger. Plus there is a lot of coincidences in this world, if we look hard enough for them.

The trick is with starting new relationships, don't invest more than you can afford to lose, finicially or emotionally, until you know, that are investing you. Also don't your emotions dictate anything in a relationship. Use your head and logic to the situation, and not your feelings towards him.

You might have a crush on him, but it doesn't mean, he will be your future prince.

Don't make assumption or assume the worse in someone, unless proven otherwise. Let them produce the evidence in their actions first.
Let people prove themselves first, if they hurt you, then move on.
I had a situation, I had 2 friends, who I thought were my friends, I gave them to opportunity to prove themselves, by driving them to the beach in my car. When it came to doing it for them, they didn't appreciate me, or even consider my feeling when we got there. After I said to me, I will never drive them anywhere again.
The saying goes, fool me once, your fault, fool me twice, my fault. Don't worry about getting hurt, but just don't let them too many times.
