Why would my ex start making comments about how I dress and look?

He's probably finally letting the cat out of the bag. I would have done this early in the beginning if you dressed that way. There is a big difference between dressing sexy and dressing slutty. You do not need to go out of the house looking like a slut for every guy to look at. You only need to look like a slut for the man you're going out of the house with. And the man you're coming home with or two. So, keep your shit in your clothes, and only let one person look at your shit. And he doesn't have to make a comment about how much of a slut you look like. I would have told you before we even met that I don't like women that dress like sluts. And, when women dress up in some of that shit and do all that shit to themself, that's definitely dressing like a slut that's for sure. A woman doesn't have to do anything outside of opening up her eyes in the morning in order to be beautiful. So, nothing you put on yourself, is going to make you look beautiful. To the contrary. Usually the more the women do to themselves usually the more uglier it makes them look.

So he’s an ex and you have a child (ren) together? He could be going through a lot of negative emotions and maybe even working through the loss of you. Sometimes men don’t recognize what they had in a woman until they have lost her. Now, seeing what he’s lost he may not be happy about the idea of you looking good and attracting a new man in your life. Plus, if you do get a new man in your life it will reduce the small amount of influence he may still think he has over you. He may THINK his opinion matters a little now; but he KNOWS it won’t once you have a new man.



Since you have a child in common you will always have some amount of contact so his comments may not be totally avoidable. Just keep them in perspective - he’s an ex and his opinions about your and your life (unless they directly impact your child) are completely irrelevant in your world now.


As far as your attire, you cannot avoid the simple math: if a woman is beautiful then she can wear gym clothes, to jeans and a t-shirt, to a cocktail dress and it’s going to attract attention. Nothing you can do about that. So long as you are dressing in a way you like and suits your style then you keep on doing you. If you start to overdo it you can trust your gal pals will let you know. If you're pretty just enjoy that amazing gift so many covet and enjoy it.
