Why did my crush delete his romantic playlist he dedicated to me?

My crush made a romantic playlist for me (he named it after me and was trying to get my attention at the time) a year ago but never shared it with me. He soon made the playlist private and now one year later he just deleted it. I still see him weekly in a lecture and he does glance at me at the beginning of the lecture when he thinks I don’t notice. Why did he make an effort to delete it? He rarely deletes any of his playlists. And yeah I know it’s kind of creepy that I monitor his Spotify activities but I’ve never been so drawn to anyone like to him.

Aw man, that sucks he deleted the playlist. Who knows what's really going on in his head? A few possibilities:

- He may have moved on and wants to forget about you since nothing happened between you guys. Deleting it helps him close that chapter.

- Could be embarrassed you'd find it if you somehow saw his profile. Didn't want to leave clues about his old crush lying around.

- Might be seeing someone new and doesn't want any traces of past feelings for you surfacing somehow.

- Possibly realized how creepy/stalkerish it was to have a secret playlist dedicated to someone who didn't know about it. Wanted to remove that cringe factor.

- Could even be testing you - seeing if you'd notice or care that it's gone. Wanting to gauge if you ever felt the same way.

Who knows! Only one to really answer why would be him. All you can do is shoot your shot - maybe casually bring it up next time you see him in lecture.

Might find out he was just as into you as you were to him. Unless you ask, you'll never know for sure. Go get your man!

- Maybe he just got paranoid you MIGHT see it somehow even if you weren't following. Guys can overthink that stuff.

- Possibly one of his friends noticed the playlist and teased him about it, so he got self-conscious.

- Could be he started chatting with you more lately and didn't want things to become awkward if you found out about it somehow.

- Might have just lost interest in keeping it up after so long without anything happening between you two.

- Also possible he's into someone else now so wanted a fresh start playlist-wise.

Hard to say for sure sis! All you can do is put yourself out there and see what happens. Stay friendly, keep an eye out for signs he's still into you. But try not to stress the small stuff too much. Easier said than done, I know, but you got this!

If it was private and you couldn't see it, then for sure he wasn't deleting it because of you specifically like I said before. He probably just cleaned it out since it’s been so long.

I’m kinda stumped now as to why he made it private in the first place if you guys weren’t talking back then either. That part is weird.

Maybe he liked you but was too shy to say anything at the time? So he made the playlist as a way to indirectly show his feelings without actually talking. Then after awhile he decided to move on since nothing happened.

It’s tough because I don’t know what’s really going on in his head. The glancing could still be a good sign, but it’s so confusing with this playlist stuff! My advice would be the same though - try chatting with him after class and see how it goes. A smile and hello couldn’t hurt! Hopefully you get some more clues on where he’s at now. If it was private the whole time, maybe he just got embarrassed or something. But still, seems shitty to just erase it like that without saying anything to you. Real shady behavior if you ask me.

I'd say at this point don't even bother trying to figure him out anymore. Dude's sending mixed signals left and right and obviously isn't that interested if he just deleted something he supposedly made for you special.

Time to move on for good. He's had every chance to properly show you how he feels instead of playing these dumb games, and he's blown it. You deserve way better than that flakey ass behavior anyway.
