Guys, if I stood next to my gym crush and he left the area, is he disinterested?

There’s this guy I like at the gym he’s actually the one who liked me first. I think he’s shy because he will subtly stare at me or follow me around machines. Anyway today I was gonna approach him I got the courage but as soon as I set up next to him, he left the gym. I was dumbfounded and didn’t know how to take it because he had just started his reps. Does he hate me? I looked at him a little bit which I didn’t do before because I was too shy..

Hey girl don't be too hard on yourself, reading into gym crush behaviors can be tricky! A few thoughts on what might have happened:

- He could have just really needed to leave for some reason - maybe had to get to work, get home to something, etc. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

- Or could have been super intimidated by you making a move finally! Guys can get shy too.

- It's possible he saw you looking at him more and got nervous you were onto his staring before.

I wouldn't assume he hates you! If he's been showing interest before, it's more likely he just got flustered in the moment. Here's what I'd do:

- Go back at your usual times and see if his pattern of looking returns

- Flash a smile next time you make eye contact to put him at ease

- Maybe text a friend there to subtly wing woman you into conversation

- Worst case, you tried! But I bet if you give it another chance, things will go better.

I think he got too nervous at that point, didn't know what to do, so just left. But it could also be that he is just trying to be cautious because girls in the gym are looking to cause troubles these days for publicity. Lol.

You do realize we don’t all live in a social media obsession, right? I met my last boyfriend at the gym. Most gym couples have met at the gym. I don’t sit around using tik tok and YouTube all day thinking this is real life because I never leave the house. If YOU do, then that’s you. But for me, I’ve been approached plenty of times at the gym. Either you’re interested or you’re not and move on with your day.

And I didn’t say Instagram. I said TikTok and YouTube. And just because you do not have instagram does not mean you do not have an addiction to social media. And learn my lesson the hard way?
