What exactly do men think about when they are contemplating if they should approach a girl?

I mean usually you know if you’re physically attracted to someone immediately so I would be surprised if that’s the reason.

Will she like me? Will she blow me off? Will she throw a drink on me? Will she be very rude? Maybe she's already got a boyfriend or hubby. If she is accepting, will she be worth it? Will she turn out to be annoying? Will she turn into a huge freak once we get together alone? Is she a weirdo in disguise? Is she an axe murderer? How many axes has she murdered? Does she have a HUGE shoe collection? Should I or shouldn't I?
No guy likes being rejected, especially in front of other people, especially if she makes a big deal of it. What's wrong with just pleasantly, calmly telling him, "No thanks. I'm not interested." and leaving it at that?
