I was working for a company for about one year and during my last six months I was having a lot of struggles with bullying and discrimination at work. I attended a conference call and enjoyed it so I reached out to the leader of the call and told him how much I enjoyed his training session and reached out to him to ask for help and support because I felt I was being treated unfairly at work and I was struggling with my manager.
We had a call together and I explained to him what was going on and then he got in contact with my manager himself and asked her if she would support me or make changes in the role so that I would be able to cope more. This made my manager even more funny with me and she had a go at me for going outside the team for help.
Since then every time I’ve felt like I couldn’t cope in the workplace or was struggling with bullying and unfair treatment I reached out to him and we would have really long video calls on company time just chatting in general and he would tell me all about his family etc and we’d just have a general chat. He told me he found I was really easy to talk to and that we had things in common. Every time I was struggling he would free up time to speak to me and offer support. He was even on my side over my managers and advocated for me and my rights.
When I told him I was leaving we had another call and he was basically bashing my colleagues and saying how unfair it was the way I was treated. He gave me his phone number and said he wanted to hear from me after I left to see how I was doing. It just felt like we both had a connection
Do you think he was just trying to help me out or could he have had feelings for me?
