Distant after sex, busy, or going through something?

So my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time last weekend. It was good sex, we left on a good note getting breakfast with one another. Then he told me he loved me when he took me home. The next day we talked about the gifts we’re gonna give one another next time we see each other but his reply time has been so long, almost a full day in between each reply. He works several jobs so he’s very busy however. One day I asked if he was okay and he replied “hey sorry I’m okay.” It was kind of dry and didn’t seem like the truth. I honestly think he’s going through something but it’s hard not overthinking about it

Aww man, that is kind of weird behavior from your dude after such an intimate moment. A few possibilities from my guy perspective:

- The L-bomb freaked him out a bit after getting so close. Might need some time/space to process emotions.

- Performance anxiety hitting after sex - worried you may judge him or compare to past guys. Wants to play it cool now.

- Work/life stuff really is swamping him and it's not personal. But he should make more effort to reassure you.

- Worst case, he's getting cold feet about commitment in general since things escalated physically.

I'd give him some space but also let him know you're there for him no pressure. Tell him you care and want to listen if anything's on his mind. Whether it's you or outside stuff bugging him. Clear honest communication is key, even if it means an awkward convo. It'll be alright man, just see how he responds when things settle.

Talk it out with him
