Do men dream of fairytale happy ending too?

Most men don't - we are fully aware that shit isn't real. A few exceptions definitely exist, though (men who are true believers in the Disney fairy tale).

Most men have more grounded expectations of what marriage is and what it means to have a family. Not saying we're perfect, but most of us never believed the fairy tale because we grew up in a world that taught us the hard truths of reality. If we didn't respect a knife, we cut ourselves and bled. If we rode a bike or a skateboard, we fell off and skinned our knees, elbows, and palms, among other things - and found out that those tricks on TV are much harder to do in real life. If we wanted something, we usually had to get a job and work and save for it. If we ran our mouth, some bigger, stronger guy would be along sooner or later to teach us about humility.

Most girls don't get this kind of practical, grounded "education" from the real world (though some definitely do), and so it's far more common for women to really believe in the fantasy and be divorced from reality than it is for men. Having said that, I've met a few men who lived in fantasy-land and I pitied them, because they were doomed to learn some extremely harsh lessons from life later on.

All the time, every day. If there's a girl I like, I'll catch myself imagining our entire lives together before I even talk to her. It's part of why I'm afraid to approach women. I'm aware of how weird it is, and I don't want to accidentally let it show how strongly I feel and make them uncomfortable.
