I met a guy who works from home, doesn't have his own place, and clearly isn't financially stable, but is talking about marriage and relationship... what made me pull back was the fact that I lost an aunt and sister fell sick I thought he would be understanding and supportive or try to offer comfort, but instead he insisted that we meet for my birthday for dinner and a hotel... he lives a hour away , but this guy doesn't seem ready for a relationship and clearly is trying to disrespect me by going to a hotel. He ignored everything going on with my family and I never asked him to make plans with me for my birthday. I never met this guy and the date is fine , but not a hotel meet... I'm CELIBATE AND see no need to meet him at a hotel. I told him today I need a few days to myself because every time I would explain my situation with me being under stress due to my family he would be asleep even in phone conversation.

Girl, I totally get why you pulled back from this dude. All those red flags would turn me off too! Living at home with no job stability is one thing, but then ignoring your family issues to push a hotel date? No way.

You said it best - you're not ready for anything physical yet, and he clearly only cares about meeting up alone ASAP. That's sketchy as hell from a guy you barely know.

I say drop him for sure. You don't need that stress right now on top of everything else. You told him you need space and he can't even stay awake for a phone call? Psh, next.
