Because they are control freaks and expect her to be wrapped around his little finger and do what he says for her to do. But sometimes females’ confuse control with respect , control is demanding someone else about what they can or can not do , a controlling partner will demand you to wear a certain outfit , or demand that you don’t eat certain foods , or demand you not to have any friends. A respectful partner will wear your shoes the same way they want you wearing theirs , meaning they want you to respect them the same way they respect you. Basically what you don’t want them doing to you needs to be the same boundaries for you as well, not the other way around. Anytime you tell your partner that you don’t want them doing something that affects you , or hurts you or makes you feel insecure , remember that same rule applies for you as well. If you want your relationship to survive and for love to continue to grow between you both , you have to give the same way you want to receive if not that relationship is pretty much doomed from the start. If you don’t want your partner going on trips with out you with his friends , then the same rule applies to you as well. So always wear your partners’ shoes before making decisions and before you even open your mouth , that will show respect in your relationship and make you both be respectful to each other , if you only think about what is best for yourself , and can never admit when you are wrong , your relationship probably won’t last , because you are being selfish and disrespectful basically by wanting your cake and wanting to eat it to , all by yourself. So remember whatever you don’t want your partner doing to you needs to be the same rules for you as well. Not the other way around. Your partner should always be your top priority over everyone else in this world if you want your partner to make you his top priority you have to do the same to him. Sadly most people do not grasp this concept and then they wonder why they keep failing in relationships, it’s because they are selfish people that only think about what is best for themselves , you have to remember you are no longer single , you chose this person the same way you wanted them to choose you , your single days are over if you want your relationship to survive , Your friends and family should never come over your partner period , cuz your friends and family aren’t going to with you for the long haul but your partner will more than likely if you choose him the same way you want him to choose you , that’s where respect comes into a real relationship. When it comes to friends and family , Good friends and family will support your relationship and understand you are in a relationship bad friends and family will not give a shit about your relationship and try to pull you away from it as much as they can , because they don’t care about your relationship whatsoever they basically want you all to themselves , sadly your friends and family can be the ones’ that are controlling you and you are blind to it , and making you think your partner is the one controlling when really he isn’t , he just feels disrespected. Your bad friends and family will leave you in the dust once they eventually meet someone else and when they do they will kick you to the curb. This is the time you will see who your true friends and family are and see who isn’t. I have experienced this and witnessed this a shit ton of times in my relationships and other peoples’ relationships, My advice is to never prioritize your friends’ over your partner period. Learn to be respectful the same way you want your partner being respectful to you.

It is evolutionary and natural. It is obviously advantageous for a male to obtain a monopoly on a female's reproductive capabilities. In most species male involvement in reproduction is limited to mounting females in mating season.

However, human young are particularly helpless compared with the young of other species. Our big heads necessitated females to give birth to "prem" babies and men developed to stick around provide support.

If a baby was an anybodies that could not be expected. So it was advantageous to females to be "owned".

Yes, because some of them have intellectual horizon of 8 yo boys, who think mommy forgives them everything because she loves them unconditionally.
Among men is the IQ bell curve wider. It means there are lot of intelligent guys but there are lot of complete dumbasses.

I think it’s because they feel entitled to be dominant, like in old times where human were hunter-gatherers.  Maybe it’s a primitive instinct that is just annoying in the modern day. 🤷‍♀️

Because sometimes it’s true. I’m not saying that that’s how it should be, but in some relationships that’s what both people want. I can only think of one girl who I work w that is married to her man who says he owns her. She loves when he picks her outfits, purchases her clothes. Things that he would like to see her wearing. She seems very happy w it.

i. e.

1. A right to her love and respect in a comitted relationship

2. Property

where the latter above is wrong in every sense.

A lot of inexperienced men believe they 'deserve' and this ends badly as it is suffocating
