Why would a guy seem really keen, act cool and then keen again?

There’s a guy who I am really sweet on and most of the time he seems to be on me too, but I’ve noticed he’ll act keen and then the next minute it’s almost like he’s playing it cool and then out of the blue he’ll be flirty again.

What’s going on? by the way this is a work environment. when he’s keen, it’s almost like instinct but it’s very confusing,

What I mean is he’s shown what I’ve thought of as signs of mutual attraction, then backed off a bit, making me thing he’s not bothered, and then acted really flirty and keen again.

Well he knows I like him. I have tried to give him signals, but it’s tricky because it’s a work setting, so I’m progressional too.

How do you know he knows? Don't assume your 'signals' are getting through either.

I did tell him that I like him a while ago at the work party, so I’m not sure really. If he’s not bothered why does he still flirt and act interested at times?

Yeah ok. No I get that, I don’t think it does, it’s just very hot and cold I guess and it’s a bit distracting that’s all.

He probably is reading similar things on his end about you. You are both giving each other mixed signals, because you are both giving mixed signals. It could be a catch 22.
