So what’s going on with the chasing? Are you interested in him but want him to work extra hard? I’m just trying to understand what’s going on here. He says you don’t give him enough attention, which would obviously be the case for unreciprocated romantic interest. But if you do like him or do things to insinuate that you do when you really don’t, then I could imagine there being some confusion on his end.

I don't know if you choosing to date this way is prompted by previous hurt/disappointment, but if so then you should really take time as a a single woman to heal all that first before seeking another relationship. Nobody wants to be the only one putting in effort, like if he doesn’t call or text rather than reaching out yourself you get all bummed out and think he’s changing. Like no, he’s just getting sick of chasing without reciprocation, just as any self-respecting individual would feel.
