Why did he go silent after I called out his mixed signals?

Long story short I’m having a situationship with a guy almost a month now. We text every day, met once ( we just kissed ), talk over the phone etc. we both are in a relationship. However two days ago we we were talking over the phone ( we were out and going home driving ) so I was like you know what I’m gonna drive to you so we can see each other at least from the cars. So I did through the whole city only to see him through the window for like 5mins while driving. We were laughing and joking, we had a cute moment then he reached his home and told me, kisses I will text you. So I was waiting, he never texted that night he did next morning but I ignored him. After hours I saw his message and never replied and in 5mins he was asking me what’s going on. I acted like “I can’t be on the phone all the time and reply to you” so he said okay. After a few hours I have decided to tell him how I felt, that I did whatever just so we can see each other and he couldn’t find a way to text me when he said he will. He said I couldn’t, I was thinking about you so much, I really wanted I just couldn’t. And I was like yeah listen when you really want something you find a way, in this case maybe your desire wasn’t enough to find a way to do it. So it’s okay, all good. He saw my massages two hours later and never replied to me. It’s been 24h now. So I am super confused. One day you say you miss me, you hate when you are being kind (in general) but it’s how you feel, and that’s why I made this drive to see him, next day you disappear? So?
