What makes a girl think you're a player?

This girl accused me of being a player and I'm wondering what is it about a guy that makes you think he's a player? Is it physical traits or his personality traits or a mixture of the two? What exactly makes you suspicious?

These are some reasons why I thought maybe she would think that:

1) I'm very playful with girls and know how to get a girl to like me

2) I keep my phone on vibrate and don't like people messing with it (just a personal quirk it's not like I'm hiding anything)

3) I haven't had a serious girlfrirend in a while and if you were to ask any of my friends about my past relationships they'd come up blank

4) I'm well above average in terms of looks (I'm attractive)


Are these things suspicious?

I hope I'm not coming across as a player because I don't sleep around much at all honestly. And I've always had trouble with relationships because girls think I'm not totally into them and that I'm weighing/dating other options so they always are insecure and jealous about the relationship and I need to figure out why girls think I'm this huge player so that I can change that image and be able to get a girl comfortable and secure about the relationship

i'm dating a guy and I had big suspicions that he was a player and sometimes I still do but I don't think so as much. as I got to know him better, I realized that sometimes he is looking for validation because he is insecure himself.

but here are some tip offs...

he's flirty and a bit sexual

he hasn't had a serious relationship in a while

he "dated" a lot

he seems smooth

something about him just seems slightly not-genuine

he doesn't seem to open up about himself enough and wants to know a lot more about me

he has too many lines

he is too much after you without worrying about rejection

For me the signs include being over flirtatious, having many girlfriends in short periods of time, a well known history for cheating/playing women, and avoiding the topic of relationships in conversation, or dancing around the question if I bring it up.

I don't believe guys when they complement me anymore either, I've had a good share of sweet-talk BS. I know some guys genuinely mean the things they say, but there's always a big part of my conscious that tells me they're being fake. Compliments don't automatically make me write someone off, but I am still weary of what their intentions really are.

basically if you act like you're super awesome and don't live in reality. relationships are about two people coming together to spend the rest of their life together. not having this amazing, fantastic "without you I would die" relationship.

usually players try to make girls think that they're awesome and promise the girls heaven in doing so. if a guy is immature enough to do that, he will most likely be doing that to all women he finds even mildly attractive around him, therefore making him a player

basically, what I'm saying it, just be realistic. loving. supportive.

Any guy that is good with women is going to have a few of the girls think he is a player at one point or another. It is unavoidable.

response to your update: most girls don't want to feel like they are in a competition with other girls. they want to feel like they have no competition...so when you are flirty with othter girls it just seems like she isn't special and some girls will take those feelings and say you're a player

LOL actually, all of your 4 traits above seems typical for a player so I'm not surprised that she thinks so. But whether a playboy or not is really not a matter, as long as guys show his interest seriously, I don't think girls will care.

When he tells you he likes you and the next day a girl comes up to you and asks if he likes you. you say yes she'll say well same with me that girl and, that one, and that one. It might give you just a hint that he's a player.

I like this guy right, but then he started just dating other girls. Also he had a girlfriend yet he bragged about another girl playing with him while his girlfriend was next to him and he would flirt like hell with many different people.
