Why is he shy suddenly?

This guy has liked me for awhile and was somewhat outgoing around me but all of the sudden he is shy. When he talks to me he won't look me in the eye anymore, when he sees me in the hall he looks away quickly unlike when he used to gaze into my eyes, and when I catch him staring at me he quickly looks away when he used to keep staring. He used to be totally confident and everything! Why is he like this? Oh yeah, and sometimes when I catch him staring at me he keeps staring.

Maybe he now has feelings for you and he is shy. As I also know a shy guy, who was always confident around girls, but when he was around the girl, for who he felt something more than just a friendship, he started to get nervous, when he past her his head was always pointed to the floor like he had dropped something, he just gave her little glimpses instead of looking into eyes. He didn't want that his feelings drag him out of his comfort zone, where he can easy contact with girls... In other words he started to feel insecure...

Haha, poor guy. Maybe he's lost his confidence because when he was outgoing and social, you didn't respond the way he was hoping. Do you kiss him? Flirt with him? He needs signals, to know it's okay. So that what he's been doing has been keeping your attention.
