I don't to make doctors and insurance companies profit on my illness and pain. I wish it wasn't a vicious circle

I know the feeling. I suffered leg pain for years. They ran testes x rays bone scan.. Said it was in my head. 15 years later I could barely walk MRI my back. Presently I am waiting to see a surgeon.

I will be the devil’s advocate here and defend physicians. Many different conditions can exhibit the same or very similar signs and symptoms. They have to cautiously rule out all of the common issues before jumping to conclusions that it is something of concern. Also, physicians don’t always know what procedures your insurance will cover, they just have to protect themselves and their licenses by ensuring they did everything within their scope of practice to identify and diagnose you correctly, including running diagnostic tests and referrals to appropriate specialists.

Your leg hurts? I’m sorry to hear that and I know you want answers. But that could mean a hundred different things, hence why we run tests and send referals to the appropraite specialist. Of course the healthcare industry being as bad as it, and even worse in America, that makes finding answers hard. I’m in nursing and nurses and doctors always make fun of each other, but I’ll stand up for them. I certainly couldn’t be a doctor. They make decisions everyday that would break most people.
