Dates contain high level of carbo-hydrates(44% - 88%) which makes them very good source of instant energy.

They have low fat contain(0.2% - 0.5%) so there is hardly any risk of gaining weight and one can eat many dates at one time.

They got about 15 minerals and salts in dates. Fluorite present in dates prevents the tooth decay even though dates are sweet fruit. Selenium present in dates fight against cancer and increases the immune system of human body.

They have about 6 vitamins which are vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin A and niacin.

The protein level in dates is 2.3% - 5.6%. Dates have proteins which have 23 different amino acids. These amino acids are not present in other popular fruits like oranges, bananas, apples etc.

Dates have high fiber content(6.4% - 11.5%) depending on their different types. Because of high fiber the dates are good for digestion and can cure constipation to some extent.
