Understanding ATP conversion and how to apply this information to weight loss!
I have noticed widespread of media trying tell people to stick on a low fat diet. Fat is vital to health, weight loss, thyroid functioning, cushioning your organs, making your skin more elastic, and extremely vital for cognitive functioning.

You see, your brain is made out of a Myelin Sheath, which is the fatty acids you eat broken down and then synthesized to build up your brain. Your brain needs to be pliable so neurons could send signals more efficiently between each other.

I can see it being hard for people depriving themselves of fat. The truth is people pretty much have it backwards. The amount of fat you eat will not determine the amount of fat you store, let me explain why.

There are 3 types of energies your body burns:

Creatine, which is the energy you burn when you feel you're in danger and your endorphin's kick in causing your body to produce the hormone epinephrine and makes your adrenaline course through your veins.

Then there is glycogen which if you limit your intake of carbohydrates then your body just produces the hormone amylase and you can burn carbohydrate in glucose form, but eating a high carb meal will just make you store some glucose as glycogen for reserves.

Then of course there is fat, which is actually the preferred energy your body wants to burn. However, even though your body prefers to use fat as fuel, carbohydrates gets burned first. If you have a high carb meal then you're storing fat as fat onto your body because you are burning glucose first, then your body has to burn the glycogen you stored, and after that process if you don't consume more carbs your body will turn to burning the fat you stored.

So in short, the amount of fat you eat does not regulate how much fat your body stores, but the amount of carbs you eat will determine how much fat you will store for use later. I know fat is tricky, as long as you get it from a natural whole source either low in polyunsaturated fats , or just high in omega 3's then you should be doing great.

The thing is fats go rancid 2 different ways, one over time, and two is if you heat it above its smoking point, so if you fry with olive oil and keep it from reaching it's smoking point, then you can use that oil more then once! Just make sure you get your fats from whole, unrefined, unprocessed foods in its most natural state!
